Norman Dianda’s first job as a general contractor was a residential kitchen remodel in 1964. Today his firm, Q&D Construction, builds hospitals, schools and corporate campuses.

“My first real break was landing a remodel of the coin count room for Bill Harrah’s Reno casino in 1967,” recalls Dianda. Q&D has worked continuously for Harrah’s hotel-gaming operations in Lake Tahoe and Reno since.

Dianda has built his company into the most diversified general contractor in northern Nevada.

He can be found daily at his northern Nevada headquarters in Sparks, an 8-acre facility with administrative offices, construction yard, large shop for repairing equipment and a millwork shop. He meets regularly with designers and owners about new work. And he constantly fields phone calls - whether from a potential client or a student looking for a bid on a 4-H show lamb project.
