Artefice Architectural Millwork

Our founder Norm Dianda is known for telling it like it is. When asked for a name describing his millwork business, he responded with a candor consistent of his Italian heritage. “Artéfice,” he said. “It means craftsman.”

Norm was a cabinetmaker before founding Q&D. As a general contractor working for gaming legend Bill Harrah’s in the ‘60s, he realized he needed greater control over the millwork process in order to generate exclusive and unique finishes. Norm’s award-winning facility was described by one of our luminary clients as “the finest bunch of craftsmen in the world.”

Artéfice is now a sister company to Q&D and manufactures and installs for other general contractors in the Sierra Nevada and on the West Coast.
