NDOT Bridge Deck Awarded to Q&D

Q&D is getting ready to begin work on the NDOT D2-0410-10 Bridge Deck Structures Rehabilitation project. This project will consist of repairing eight (8) bridges on I-80 and US 395 in the Reno, Sparks and Verdi areas. The repair work will include joint and header repairs and the installation of multi-layer bridge overlays. This $1,365,000 project will be completed in November 2010.

Q&D Receives Silver Shovel Award

This August, Q&D is the recipient of the Silver Shovel Award from Underground Service Alert (USA) North for having the most USA dig tickets with NO utility strikes. USA North is the agency that tracks and identifies underground utilites for construction. More than 200,000 underground utilities lines are struck each year in the U.S. and 37% of all U.S. digging damage results from digging without first requesting utilities be marked. This is an outstanding accomplishment and it is due to the dilligence and care taken by all of Q&D's leaders and field personnel to "Call before we dig!"

July 4th A Success at Victorian Square

The Victorian Square Ph 2A Connector Road is getting close to its scheduled completion. Per the project specifications, Q&D crews were required to have Victorian re-opened for the 4th of July weekend. With the cooperation of the City of Sparks and the Nugget, Q&D Crews led by Aaron Bird and Scott Leone were able to do one better. They were able to open it a week early! According to Q&D President Norm Dianda, John Ascuaga is ecstatic about the work Q&D has completed so far. The rest of the project is scheduled to be finished by July 26th, just in time for Hot August Nights!
